Exploring the Hidden Abyssal Woods in Elden Ring: A Step-by-Step Guide

Elden Ring, the highly anticipated game from the creators of Dark Souls, offers players a vast open world to explore, filled with challenging enemies and hidden secrets. One such hidden gem is the Abyssal Woods, located to the east of the Shadow Keep. In this guide, we will walk you through the intricate steps required to reach this mysterious location.

To begin your journey to the Abyssal Woods, head to the Shadow Keep and defeat the golden hippopotamus at the main gate. After this, move left out of the Boss Arena and continue forward until you encounter a drawbridge guarded by a fire Knight. Instead of engaging the Knight, look to the right to find a ladder leading to a hidden area along the keep’s inner moat.

Navigate through the hidden area, striking the wall next to the painting of The Domain of Dragons to reveal a secret passage. This passage will lead you to a stone coffin that can be entered, transporting you to a flooded area below the Shadow Keep. Rest at the Castle Watering Hole before heading south towards the river.

As you progress south, be mindful of the cliffside filled with gaps and holes. Utilize your abilities to navigate these obstacles and continue downwards until you reach a dead end. From there, descend to the river below and head south until you reach the edge of the waterfall, crossing to the other side.

Continue along the path of gravestones embedded in the cliff, fending off any enemies in your way, until you discover the entrance to the Dark Light Catacombs. Traverse through this dungeon, defeating Jory the Inquisitor in a challenging boss fight. Upon emerging victorious, you will finally gain access to the mystical Abyssal Woods.
